Our range of meth decomtamination services

Meth

Methamphetamine (meth), commonly known as ‘P’ in New Zealand is just one of many amphetamine-type drugs. Some amphetamines are legal and are distributed by pharmaceutical companies for medical purposes.

Meth used and manufactured in New Zealand is mostly made in illegal laboratories known as ‘meth labs. Meth is a stimulant drug available in various forms such as pill, powder, crystal, or liquid.

Illegal meth labs and usage in New Zealand is common, it is recommended to seek independent meth testing if you believe you property has been used to manufacture illegal meth or has heavy usage in the property.

Meth Testing

The initial test for meth requires using a swab that is chemically treated, re-agent liquid is administered to provide a prompt, cost-effective, and probability test for the presence of contamination from meth.

A presumptive test will promptly indicate if drug residue is present.

Contamination is common due to overheating chemical reactions, chemical spills and dumping and the long-term use of meth in a property.

NZRS can refer you to independent meth testing services if you require a property to be tested.

Environmentally Friendly Removal

The aftermath of meth and ‘P’ manufacture or heavy use in contaminated properties for owners, property managers and insurers require the input and advice of decontamination contractors.

NZRS has the experience to develop an environmentally friendly remediation plan that limits cost, property downtime and that guarantees the return of the property to a safe habitable state.

NZRS can use your laboratory report to interpret contamination levels and formulate a remediation plan. Remediation plans range from cleaning, removing of soft furnishings, electrical fittings to stripping out of building materials from entire areas while considering reinstatement costs.

Our trained and experienced decontamination teams deal with all levels of contamination. We use a specialist range of decontamination products and processes that ensures we do not introduce further hazards or toxins into your property.

Our Process

If you are concerned about house or property being contaminated by meth, be aware that levels less than 15 micro-grams per 100cm2 are safe to live in. If your property has been used as a lab to manufacture meth or heavy usage in the property, we recommend pursuing an independent test in the first instance.
